Air Commodore Zahid ul Hassan SI(M), TI(M), (R)

Air Commodore Zahid ul Hassan SI(M), TI(M), (R) is Director Research at CISSS. He holds Doctorate in Global Security and Strategy from University of Sapienza (Wisdom), Rome, Italy. He is currently pursuing another PhD in International Relations (IR) from Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology (FUUAST) Karachi/Islamabad. He has Masters degrees in War Studies, Strategic Studies and National Security & War Studies from NDU, Islamabad. Besides having certifications in Effective Communication Skills and Management for Executives from Pakistan Institute of Management Sciences (PIMS), he has certification in provision of Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of healthcare establishments from the offices of DG health, Punjab and Punjab Health Care Commission (PHC).

He possess adequate inland and foreign qualifications in professional Operational, Functional and Administrative domains broadly including but not limited to Senior Command and Staff Course (SC&SC), Base/Sqn Cdrs’ Command Orientation Course (COC), prestigious Combat Commanders Course (CCC), coveted Air Warfare Course (AWC) from PAF Institutes, National Security and War Course (NS&WC) from NDU, Islamabad, Theatre Air Operations Course (TAOC) and Air Battle Managers Course (ABMC) from Florida, USA.

He also holds rich Command & Staff and Training experience at divergent service echelons at AHQs and field level. He remained Senior Staff Officers to Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Training) and Vice Chief of Air Staff (VCAS) besides performing duties as Deputy Director and Director (Plans) at AHQs. He has Commanded a HL Radar Squadron, a GMCC, an Operational Base and Sector Headquarters and obtained rich experience of Planning, Organizing, Risk Assessment and Management, Quality Assurance, Intelligence and Human Resource Management. He also performed duties as Training incharge at Squadrons, GMCCs and Sector Headquarters and remained part of the team to orchestrate central training policy for fighter controllers.

He had the honour to be the 1st Project Director (PD) at AHQs to conceive (prepared a feasibility study), organize, establish and operationalize Fazaia Medical Colleges (FMCs) and transform PAF hospitals into tertiary care teaching hospitals and work in close harmony with Federal Ministry of National Health and Coordination and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to obtain NOC for commencing FMCs. He also got the opportunity to spearhead hiring, training and deployment of suitable HR for FMC. He remained Advisor to Incumbent Air Staff at AHQs on Health Care, conduct of Clinical Educational Training affairs, preparation of teaching hospitals for Accreditation from the Regulators (PMC & CPSP) and preparation of policy documents at FMCs. As incharge of another project, he remained in close coordination with Gov’t of Punjab (GoPb) to operationalize redundant Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital at Fort Monroe (FM) and coordinate training of PAF contingent (health care administrators) on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from offices of DG health and Punjab Health Care Commission (PHC).

He was conferred Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) as well as Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) by the President o Pakistan. He has also received Chief of the Air Staff Commendation Certificate, and Principal Staff Officers Commendation Certificate.
